In the 60’s, there was a folk dance group under the Chinese Students Weekly in Hong Kong. The members gathered every week to enjoy dancing. In 1967, the Weekly ended and the folk dance group had to be dismissed. Those group members, who were young students and already tied with deep friendship, then organized themselves and inaugurated the Budlet Folk Dance Club (the Club) on 10 September 1967. Later in December 1973, the Club was registered as a non-profit making organization, and further as a charity organization on 9 April 1990 in Hong Kong.
Objective
To study and promote folk dance; to provide non-profit making dance activities to the general public.
