- Orbis is an international nonprofit that has been transforming lives through the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness for over four decades. With our network of partners, we mentor, train and inspire entire local eye care teams – from health workers in rural clinics to eye surgeons in urban centers – so they can work together to save and restore vision, ensuring no one must face a life of avoidable blindness. Working in collaboration with local partners, including hospitals, universities, government agencies and ministries of health, Orbis provides hands-on ophthalmology training, strengthens healthcare infrastructure and advocates for the prioritization of eye health on public health agendas. FOCUS aims to improve educational and life outcomes of children with AD/HD and SpLD by expanding understanding and raising awareness of what it means to have a mind that learns differently Our mission is is to improve the education of mainstream students who are challenged by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) by providing accurate evidence-based information, practical strategies and support to parents and professionals in education and healthcare and by improving understanding of how learning differences impact youth both emotionally and academically.
