Asia Art Archive Limited
Arts and Culture and HumanitiesAsia Art Archive is an independent non-profit organisation co-founded by Claire Hsu and Johnson Chang in 2000 in response to the urgent need to document and make accessible the multiple recent histories of art in the region. With one of the most valuable growing collections of material on the recent history of art from Asia, freely available from our website and onsite library, AAA builds tools and communities to collectively expand knowledge through research, residency, and educational programmes. How We Do It We drive the composition of our collection with key areas of concern known as content priorities. These include examining sites where art history has been written in Asia through the lens of art writing, exhibitions, and pedagogy; looking at ideas that connect us beyond national borders (complex geographies); considering tradition and contemporary expression in parallel; investigating ephemeral practices such as performance art; and addressing gaps in art history and in our collection such as the imbalance of the representation of women. Our collection comprises a vast range of documentation, including the personal archives of significant artists, educators, and art professionals as well as key exhibitions and art spaces. We continually add to it through a research, acquisition, and digitisation process. Our library houses our physical collection, which encompasses reference books, monographs, exhibition catalogues, periodicals, and rare ephemeral materials. As part of our effort to build a community that enriches conversations around art, and be a leading resource and catalyst for scholarship in the field, we organise talks, workshops, conferences, symposia, and research grants for and with art professionals, educators, academics, artists, and the interested public. We activate and circulate the collection in multiple ways: by offering residencies and grants for art professionals to conduct research at AAA, creating teaching resources for educators, presenting regular programming and partnering with arts initiatives to critically enquire into the collection, partnering with educational institutions to use the collection to look at how art is taught, and by commissioning and publishing articles around the collection. These programmes and partnerships generate new ideas and connections that fuel future collections and projects

Art Hub Asia Company Limited
Arts and Culture and HumanitiesArthub is a Shanghai based and Hong Kong registered not-for-profit platform devoted to contemporary art creation and diffusion. Arthub (born in 2007 as Arthub Asia), stemmed from the desire of exploring and experimenting with the possibilities of collaborative platforms. It took off at a time of urgency, when Chinese contemporary artistic practices had a short history of structural development and faced contradictions and problems of “translation,” especially in regards to methodologies of research within the Chinese and Asian context at large. Acting as a transcultural mediator, Arthub orchestrates collaborations between Asian and overseas artists and institutions through the production of artworks, exhibitions, publications and educational activities. In this capacity, Arthub Asia is a proxy, an experiment that aims to connect likeminded local and global creative people, pooling at the same time some degree of authority on the Asian visual art spectrum.

Art and Culture Outreach Limited
Arts and Culture and HumanitiesWe are Art and Culture Outreach and we call ourselves ACO in brief (actually the two Chinese characters mean the ‘birds of art’). We have started to contribute our efforts to the development of art and culture since 2003 when we started to help the Dawei Charitable Foundation turn some (14 then and 20 now) residential units of Foo Tak Building (FTB) into art/cultural spaces (A/C spaces) letting artist/cultural entities in need have space to work at a lease that is very affordable for them. 2005 - 2010, ACO turned a unit on 14/F FTB into “Artist-in-Residency”. It allowed overseas art and cultural practitioners accommodated in the unit at the lowest possible daily or monthly rent, in a hope that more of their time and budget could be reserved for interacting with the local art and culture circle. We received 30 applications on average per year. Subsequently, ACO officially came into picture in 2008 with an independent bookstore ACO_Books instituted on the 1/F of FTB. Other than selling serious English publications on art and contemporary culture, ACO has started to take up part of the building management work for the A/C spaces and to let the bookstore be used for other cultural activities by all kinds of art and cultural entities within and without FTB other than its being a bookstore.
