The mission and values of establishing the CHKFPA are as follows: - Gathering fire technologists, fire professionals, disater/loss/reduction/prevention enthusiasts and fire-related enterprises in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to form an academic, charitable, non-profit making organization, so as to help Hong Kong residents with financial difficulties such as the elderly and the physically-challenged to speedily return to normal life after fire/catastrophes, and to assist in the building of a harmonious society. - In accordance with the law and policies of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, we aim to uphold social and moral values, actively promote fire technology and knowledge, unite and encourage fire technologists and professionals and disaster/loss/reduction/prevention enthusiasts to promote the development of fire service so as to make Hong Kong a safe community. - Attaching importance to public education and promotion of the fire safety, avoidance of recurrence of fire and other catastrophes by adopting a preventive approach, reduction of damage by fire and other calamities, upgrading of social safety in Hong Kong, protection of economic developments and personal lives and property in the community. - Provision and support of social and charitable activities, such as free seminars on fire safety, free first aid and other related training, and social relief from disasters and dangers etc. - According to the objectives of the Association, rendering assistance to members of the Association and people in China and overseas alike in the pursuit of fire safety, fire engineering and fire science, and to strengthen ties among them. - Calling upon people from all social strata who are interested in the elimination of catastrophes and prevention of dangers, to serve the community by promoting the development and application of fire engineering and fire science.

The Association organizes cultural exchange tours to different cities in China, Asia and the Globe for widening Youth horizons and think outside the boxes from cultural exploration, experiences. Besides, the Association delivers opportunities of inbound and outbound internship for students regularly to get an insight of the workforce in different markets and industries, to gain work experience, to expand network. Thirdly, the Association is also running programs for youth to learn, to communicate, to be inspired from and to express ideas in front of entrepreneurs and potential investors. Last but not least, the Association offers activities and services to youth and professions for skill training, self-development and community engagement include educational seminars, forums, charity events, workshops.

Under the District Administration Scheme launched since 1982, Hong Kong is divided into 18 administrative districts. The first Healthy City Project (HCP) of Hong Kong was initiated in Sai Kung District in 1997. This first-ever HCP was featured by its bottom-up approach where tremendous efforts have been made in engaging the community to promote health awareness and to make collaborative efforts in building a healthy community. A cohesive partnership infrastructure across sectors conducive to sustainable development has also been built. Over the years, more and more districts in Hong Kong joined the “Healthy Cities” movement. When the Alliance for Healthy Cities was inaugurated in 2004, Sai Kung and Kwai Tsing Districts were among the founding members. To consolidate the work of various administrative districts and to take forward the “Healthy Cities” initiative in a synergistic manner, the China Hong Kong Chapter of the AFHC was established in September 2007. The Inauguration Ceremony of the China Hong Kong Chapter cum “Healthy Cities” Forum was held on 14 September 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Overseas speakers included Dr. Shigeru Omi, the then Director of the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office and academics/ experienced practitioners from Australia, South Korea, Japan, China and Macau.

The Chiang Chen Industrial Charity Foundation was established in 1990 by Dr. Chiang Chen, founder and chairman of the Chen Hsong Holdings Limited. Dr. Chiang came to Hong Kong from his hometown in Shandong Province, China in 1949. Credit to his hard work and devotion to the manufacturing industry, he is recognized as a prominent leader in the industry and a much admired and respected role model for industrialists in China. Today, the Chen Hsong Group is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic injection moulding machines in the world and operates diversified business globally. His belief in "Enriching the Livelihood of People by Industry, Strengthening the Country through a Prosperous Society" was inspired by the quick recovery of the economies of Japan and Germany after World War II. Dr. Chiang firmly believes that advanced manufacturing technologies will bring about the modernization of China and raise the living standard of all Chinese people. The CIBSE Hong Kong Region is one of the largest CIBSE regions and has about 2,800 members. CIBSE HKR represents CIBSE in Hong Kong, especially with respect to membership development, public image and co-ordination with other learned societies in Hong Kong. CIBSE HKR also administers the grant from Headquarters for the interest of CIBSE members in Hong Kong and conducts professional review interviews and training assessment in Hong Kong on behalf of Headquarters. However the need for CCF’s services continues as Steung Meanchey remains an entry-point into Phnom Penh for destitute families with no option but to try and make a living through scavenging or begging on the city streets. Through a range of programs that focus on 6 core areas – Education, Leadership, Community Outreach, Healthcare, Childcare and Vocational Training – we take a holistic, on-the-ground approach to developing integrated solutions to the complex issues of poverty.
