Hong Kong Academy of Law Limited (“Academy”) was incorporated on 2 September 2008 as a company limited by guarantee and its charitable status was confirmed by the Inland Revenue Department shortly after its incorporation. The Academy is promoted by The Law Society of Hong Kong (“Society”) and is dedicated to reaching out and promoting law through education and training to the Society Members and to the local and international communities. The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education is a non-profit organisation subvented by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. We work with schools and universities in Hong Kong, as well as experts from around the world, to provide off-school gifted education programmes for gifted students aged 10 to 18 with the aim of stretching their potential. VISION The HKAGE aims to become a regional hub of its kind with an effective framework for strategic planning and delivery of appropriate programmes to encourage and nurture gifted students, and to provide support to their teachers and parents as well as related researchers and organisations within the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. MISSION Specifically, our mission is to secure appropriate learning and development opportunities for gifted students, aged 10 to 18 years, to enable them to realise their potential in a wide range of learning domains including academic and non-academic areas including leadership, creativity and interpersonal skills, and to cater for their social and emotional needs as well as their sense of commitment to the community.

Elder Academy Development Foundation

To sustain the development of the Elder Academy Scheme, the Government funded the establishment of the Elder Academy Development Foundation (the Foundation) in 2009 and the Committee on the Elder Academy Development Foundation (the Foundation Committee) was formed under the Elderly Commission to devise strategies and measures for the establishment, curriculum design, extra-curricular activities and development of elder academies, and to consider and assess funding applications received by the Foundation. The Foundation will mainly provide funding support for the following three categories of applications: (1) Setting up elder academies in primary and secondary schools; (2) Setting up elder academies in post-secondary institutions; and (3) Organising activities conducive to elderly learning and inter-generational harmony.

HASS Lab is currently part of the Hong Kong Institute of Aesthetic Education. Founded independently by visual artist Pak Sheung Chuen and cultural producer Cherry Chan in 2022, HASS Lab is a collective of artists and cross-disciplinary producers dedicated to promoting art and artist thinking as new ways of understanding and valuing society. Working with educators, social workers, and community partners, HASS Lab creates programmes that offer alternative perspectives on ability, success, and inclusion—especially for socially marginalised communities. Rooftop Institute was co-founded in 2016 by Hong Kong artists Yim Sui Fong, Law Yuk Mui, and Professor Frank Vigneron, Chair of the Department of Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, Rooftop Institute has organised artist-led educational research and practice within the context of the present social conditions, as well as Hong Kong’s position in Asian history and culture. It strongly believes in the transformative power of artist-led learning, and is one of the few community-level charities in Hong Kong focusing on promoting community-based education through art.
