In a bid to empower more women to be their own bosses, and to nurture the next generation of successful women entrepreneurs, Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Association (GBWEA) founded GBWEA Charity Fund in 2016, as an encouragement to all outstanding women entrepreneurs in Greater China, and as a platform to provide subsidies, training, professional advices and knowledge transfer to women and remarkable female students in need from all walks of life. In a long run, the Fund also aims to improve the business environment in Hong Kong. Charitable work Subsidies for continuing education and employee retraining courses 1. To subsidize outstanding female post-secondary students for internships or exchange programmes in large-scale enterprises both in Hong Kong or abroad, so as to contribute towards a better local business environment in future; 2. To provide women in need (including housewives and unemployed women) with continuing education subsidies and retraining courses, in a view to equip them with skills, enrich their professional and academic knowledge, and boost their competitiveness in the labour market; 3. To provide underprivileged female students with financial support and learning tools, such as books, computers and school uniforms, to fight for the equality of opportunity in education, and to reduce the impact of intergenerational poverty on the younger generation; 4. To provide women from all walks of life with professional guidance according to their specific interests, and to regularly organize workshops, lectures and events that facilitate exchange between women entrepreneurs. The Fund leverages the knowledge and connections of a professional team, to promote knowledge transfer between women at large and successful women entrepreneurs, so as to assist women entrepreneurs to explore the Greater China market, and take their career to new heights.
For over 25 years FOCUS has been a trusted resource for Hong Kong parents, educators and medical professionals seeking to learn how to better support the academic and social lives of children with mainstream learning differences. FOCUS aims to improve educational and life outcomes of children with AD/HD and SpLD by expanding understanding and raising awareness of what it means to have a mind that learns differently Our mission is is to improve the education of mainstream students who are challenged by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) by providing accurate evidence-based information, practical strategies and support to parents and professionals in education and healthcare and by improving understanding of how learning differences impact youth both emotionally and academically.
