The Hindu Association, under its Founder-President the late FT Melwani, took the lead in constructing The Hindu Temple at Happy Valley, which opened in 1953 as the first such place of worship in Hong Kong.
Today,The Temple supports about 120,000 Hindus as a vibrant community hub where major festivals are celebrated, religious ceremonies are performed and devotees return weekly for services.
Declared a Heritage Building - Grade II by the HKSAR Government,The Temple welcomes visitors from all faiths and encourages deeper understanding of Hinduism.
