Health防癌天使服務協會是政府注冊非牟利團體 。由一班熱心社會服務的醫生 、護士 、化驗師組成 。協會成立於一九八七年 。朱建華顧問醫生現任本會主席。 預防勝於治療 !協會宗旨是致力推動香港防癌工作 。重點是癌症的預防 。 現今癌症已成為危害生命的頭號殺手 。在香港 ,肺癌 、肝癌 、腸癌 、鼻咽癌 、乳癌和子宮頸癌都是發生率較高的癌症 。不少癌症可以預防或減低其發病率 。例如乙型肝炎是引致肝癌的最主要原因 ,預防乙型肝炎就能有效地預防肝癌 。健康的飲食習慣能減低腸癌 、乳癌的發生 。不作性濫交 ,定期婦女子宮頸細胞檢查, 亦可接種預防子宮頸癌疫苗, 是可以預防或減少子宮頸癌的發生 。 防癌天使服務協會通過深入社會各階層(包括政府部門 、工廠 、商業機構 、學校 、教會 、老人院 、社團等)作免費防癌講座 ,參予健康展覽 、社區活動 ,對巿民進行癌症的預防教育 。講解有關癌症成因 ,癌症與飲食 、生活習慣 、遺傳的因素關係 ,以及癌症的早期症狀 。提高巿民健康意識和對癌症警覺性 。自創會以來總共作8000多場講座 ,參加人數約有40多萬人次 。 協會提供常見癌症的預防性或早期的檢查 。癌症早期大多沒有明顯的症狀 ,而出現典型症狀時經已到較後期 。目前癌症的治療效果關健在於早期發現 ,早期治療 。本會還致力推行用簡便而有效方法在普通人群中作篩選檢查 。發現高危險或早期癌症病人及時轉介政府或私家專科醫生 。近兩年來 ,經本會篩選檢查發現的鼻咽癌 、腸癌 、乳癌 ,前列腺癌均已轉送政府醫院或私家專科醫生治療 。 協會認為預防工作要從青少年做起 。本港乙型肝炎帶菌者佔總人口的百分之十 ,其中四分之一人會轉變成肝硬化或肝癌 。因此 ,協會積極協助學校為學生注射預防乙型肝炎疫苗針 。多年來已為過百間學校共過萬人注射疫苗,也提供hpv疫苗注射以防子宮頸癌。

Our recent major upgrade to the Gamma Knife ICON is the first in China and Southeast Asia, offering a totally non invasive option for tumour treatment, and retaining its reputation as the platinum standard in radiosurgery treatment of intracranial lesions. Our Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neurodiagnostic and Brain Health clinics are conducted by an experienced and dedicated group of specialists. Our charitable arm the Brain Centre Foundation offers a wide range of services including educational activities for brain disorders and brain health as well as financial aids for treatment for the underprivileged. GOALS -Promotion of brain health and public interests in common brain diseases such as stroke, headache, brain tumors etc. The BCF has in the past conducted public education forums on stroke, headache, and Parkinson’s disease. -Subsidize expensive treatments such as Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s disease, and Gamma Knife Surgery for brain metastases for the underprivileged. -Sponsorship of neurosurgery for Chinese orphan babies suffering from neural-tube defects. Since 2005, Dr Yu and later Dr Fan perform surgery for these abandoned babies on a demand basis, most of them in cooperation with University Children Hospital in Suzhou, China. -Support research in neuroscience.

Ben Kende Spinal Research Foundation Limited

Our charity is dedicated to finding a cure for paralysis and helping those who suffer spinal injury. “Many of the world’s greatest scientists and technologists have discovered breakthroughs that have the potential to impact paralysed people’s lives in the next 5 years. Yet, the interventions are held hostage in the minds and labs of these spectacular researchers due to systemic failures in translating research from the lab to the clinic.” The Ben Kende Spinal Research Foundation was formally created in 2019 by friends of young athlete Ben Kende in order to support spinal research. A rising star of Hong Kong rugby, Ben sustained a spinal cord injury while representing the territory at the Asian Junior Championship in August 2010 and is now adjusting to life as a tetraplegic with limited use of his arms and no use of his legs.

It is a non-profit organization recognized by the Hong Kong government. It was established in 1995 and registered as a non-profit charity in 2003. group. The service targets are patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis and their families. The primary goal of our association is to care for and support fellow travellers, as a person who has experienced it, to make more people aware of this disease, and to arouse the general public's attention on how to deal with and face the disease if they are found to have it.
