WHO ARE WE? Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) is a registered charity dedicated exclusively to shark conservation. Every year, over 100 million sharks are caught worldwide for shark fins and other products, with over 50% of the world’s shark fin being traded through Hong Kong alone. As apex predators, sharks are a crucial part of the marine food chain. The demand for shark products has contributed to the rapid decline of many species, with several already nearing extinction. Removing sharks from our oceans will threaten the delicate balance of ecosystems that are valuable sources of food and key elements in regulating our climate. HKSF believes this a rare opportunity for people everywhere, especially in Hong Kong, to make a significant impact on a global scale. Education - Our Shark Ambassador education program reached over 10,00 kids in 2024 at over 50 schools. HKSF's Shark Ambassador Education Program is a student-driven initiative that enables motivated students here in Hong Kong to become a vital part of the shark conservation movement. HKSF focuses on SDG #14LifeBelowWater and provides the mentoring, the training and basic materials to help new Shark Ambassadors learn more about the importance of marine conservation and sustainability, as well as how to best engage their peers. Once Shark Ambassadors have participated in our talk and training, they go out into their schools and communities hosting events, organizing fundraisers, and working with their teachers and HKSF to integrate conservation messages into the existing curriculum. Sunshine Action is a non-profit organisation founded in Hong Kong in 2008 focusing on poverty-relief programmes. Since our establishment, the charity has partnered with 600 local centres and organisations across 20 countries including the USA, Chile, and Vietnam, helping over 300,000 individuals and families. Our programs span 14 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, mainly focusing on food and hunger. We are non-religious, non-political and non-discriminatory, and are also 100% based on volunteers which means that 95% of funding goes directly towards those in need.

Equal Opportunities Commission

Education

The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) is a statutory body in Hong Kong. Established in May 1996, the EOC is responsible for implementing and enforcing the four anti-discrimination Ordinances. Namely, the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (Cap. 480) (SDO), the Disability Discrimination Ordinance (Cap. 487) (DDO) and the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance (Cap. 527) (FSDO), and the Race Discrimination Ordinance (Cap. 602) (RDO). The EOC has duties and powers under these four anti-discrimination Ordinances. We work towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sex, breastfeeding, marital status, pregnancy, disability, family status and race. We also aim to eliminate sexual harassment, harassment on the ground of breastfeeding, as well as harassment and vilification on the grounds of disability and race. We promote equality of opportunities between men and women, between persons with and without a disability and irrespective of family status and race.

Our mission is to love our neighbours and empower the marginalized to reach their God-given potential. We believe every person, no matter the background, culture, or race is special and has a calling and destiny to impact the communities.

彩坪浸信會於1991年成立，至今已20多年。我們一直與彩虹、坪石及牛池灣等地區的街坊為鄰作伴。 早於1977年，九龍城浸信會在彩虹邨紫薇樓地下，開辦「九龍城浸信會彩坪閱覽室」，一方面提供自修室設施給青年學生溫習功課，另方面於彩虹及坪石邨設立福音基地，藉此傳揚福音，領人歸主。 2002年，本會遷進現址，進一步融合區內的需要，實踐愛主及愛鄰舍如同自己的精神。 多年來，我們竭力秉承耶穌基督「我來了，是要叫人得生命，並且得的更豐盛。(約翰福音10章10節)」的教導，在社區、家庭、職場及未信的世界以生命見證基督，榮耀神。

We believe in setting authentic goals and sharing them widely to connect with people around us. Communication and connections are the tools and our most valuable resources. We want to be inspired and get excited. Honesty, trust, personal responsibility keeps us accountable. Bring in Change aims to improve the elderly’s mental, physical and social health through sports. We have been in contact with the elderly during the pandemic, delivering essential items to them and witnessed the significant deterioration of their mental and physical well-being, especially some of them have lost their better half under the fifth wave of covid-19 in the past two to three months. We hope, with the participation of sports trainers and volunteers, to bring new experiences to the elderly and lift them up again during this difficult time, so that they will be ageing well. Exercise is undoubtedly the simplest way to keep us happy and healthy. Yet the elderly has been staying at home most of the time these two years, not only are they lack of physical activities, they are over worried and depressed about the current situation, having difficulties to access updated information and understand the regulations they need to follow in the society. Most of us train in the gym, do bootcamps, run on road or off trail and participate in different kinds of sports on a regular bases to keep our body and mind fit. Why don’t we spend some time to do it together with the elderly, build relationship with them and help them improve their life style for active ageing? We aim to serve elderly of different strength levels: sedentary, lightly active and active old people. We will provide them with different levels of trainings, which aim to improve their muscle strength, coordination and body balance, in order to avoid accidents and injuries. The project will link up experienced sport coaches, trainers, running coaches and sports lovers in the community to serve the elderly. We believe that, as sports lovers ourselves, it is easier to build up a friendly long-term relationship with the elderly through sports. Besides sports, we would like to organize photo shooting sessions for the elderly, during which we will talk about death planning with them, and take cheerful photos for them which can later be used as their funeral portrait. We believe that every one, regardless of the age, should have a photo that they love that can be presented in their funeral. Some elderly may not have a chance to take photos, not to mention a proper portrait, or some have never taken photos with their family. It would be a good opportunity for them and for their family to think about death together, to prepare well and in a way that they prefer.

SEA Charitable Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation that provides education opportunities for the disadvantaged in Hong Kong. Our mission is to provide equal and high-quality educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in Hong Kong through strong partnerships, building the foundation of a life-long learning and contributing to achieving a truly inclusive community. We provide these opportunities for ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers by partnering with different NGOs to identify talented individuals for education scholarships. Our vision is to see an inclusive community in Hong Kong where all children have access to education. SEA Charitable Foundation identifies students referred to by community partners and NGOs based on academics, sporting, music achievements, etc. We work closely with international schools in Hong Kong to provide scholarships and bursaries for asylum seekers, refugees, and those who ordinarily could not afford it. We also provide support to families looking to resettle in Australia, offering primary/high school and tertiary school placement for their children.

Living on less than US$0.50 per day means a daily battle for survival. The ultrapoor live in adequate, crowded shelters. They suffer from chronic hunger and malnutrition. They lack access to clean water and proper sanitation making them highly prone to many types of diseases. They are particularly vulnerable to recurring natural disasters. And they lack access to networks of support that could help them. Living in ultrapoverty means living without hope for better future. ICM's initiatives are specifically designed to meet the needs of ultrapoor households.

Grassroots Future Limited

Grassroots Future is a registered charity in Hong Kong which came out of a desire to help refugee-led initiatives and grassroots organizations working with refugees build capacity. Grassroots Future envisions to build capacity among refugee-led initiatives, focusing on community building through events and projects driven by members of the refugee community. Education: Supporting the needs of young people and adults through privately funded vocational training, mentorship, workshops and general skills training to improve capacity and self-sufficiency. Supporting the educational expenses of children through our initiatives and event programming. Community building: Community outreach and cultural events, which are curated by the refugee community, to engage different groups within society. Well-being: Provide safe spaces for healing and mental well-being through the arts and recreational activities.
