Hong Kong Society for the Aged, The
Human ServicesThe Hong Kong Society for the Aged (SAGE) was founded by Mrs Rose GOODSTADT MBE, our Life Adviser, in 1977 to respond to the projected rapid growth of elder needs. SAGE was the first social service organisation in Hong Kong specifically providing elderly services. SAGE 29 service units provide diversified and professional long-term care and support services for senior citizens living in elderly homes and the community to enhance their quality of life. SAGE uses a solemn dragon pattern as its emblem. Designed by Mr HE Tao, the designer of the Hong Kong SAR’s regional flag and regional emblem, it symbolises vitality, eternity, and auspiciousness. In addition, Mr Leo GOODSTADT, an inaugural adviser of our Society, named us Society for the Aged and used SAGE (meaning “a wise person”) as the English abbreviation, expressing our respect for the elderly and laying the foundation for our commitment to become an excellent elderly service organisation.

Grace Vessel Limited
EducationHuman ServicesFrom Compassion to Inception In 1994 our founders came in contact with children living in remote villages. Seeing these children could not afford schooling due to abject poverty they had compassion for them. They started a fund drive and were able to support 10 children at that time. We are currently sponsoring 150-200 poor students each year. From Caring to Pioneering New Services During home visitations we found students and their families are ignorant of health and hygiene knowledge which make children vulnerable to health hazards. Such awareness led us to care for their medical and health care needs. In another front, to keep pace with the nations rapid urbanization we extend our student subsidy services to migrant students through partnership with a school. Through such subsidy services we are able care for migrant families AT RISK. Expectations It is our hope that when these children have grown up and became productive members in society that they will care for the poor such as giving financial aids to poor students. We hope they are willing to share with others even though they may not have enough for themselves..

Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Hong Kong
Human ServicesPublic and Societal BenefitThe idea of establishing a local Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship was started in 1975 when a group of doctors and medical students attended the 5th International Congress of Christian Physicians. They were amazed by the strong fellowship and the effective witness of the Singapore medical group. They acquired the calling of forming a Fellowship in Hong Kong. Their vision was shared with many others resulting in the formation of the Interim Executive Committee in May 1976. After 5 months of preparatory work, the 1st Annual General Meeting was held in September when the Fellowship was officially found. At that time, it was called Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF). In 1988, it was renamed as The Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Hong Kong till now. It represents a group of people who believe in the same Christian doctrine and work in the same medical profession. Yet far more than that, we share the same faith, the same hope and the same love which leads to the same vision and mission in our service of medicine.
