Education

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds. There are over 18,000 students from 75 different nationalities in ESF kindergartens, primary, secondary and all-through schools. About 70% of our students have parents who are permanent residents of Hong Kong. ESF is proud of the high academic and wider achievements of our students. In 2022, 43 ESF students achieved the perfect score of 45 points in the IB Diploma examinations.

早在19世紀末葉，英國差會—–倫敦傳道會已派宣教士來華傳道。1899年宣教士祈理信牧師和師母抵達廣州，於上西關西華路萬善里(後以此命名萬善堂)創立佈道所，先後有譚秉剛先生、梁偉持先生負責堂務。 不久地方不敷應用，遂於蘆荻西巷50號的舊庵堂園地，重新改建為禮拜堂，定名為中華基督教會萬善堂。1924年聖誕節舉行獻堂禮，1935年原職接生護士，其後獻身全職事奉的余博文姐妹擔任萬善堂女傳道一職，後由李胡秀珍姊妹接任。 31年李啟榮牧師被推舉出任中華基督教會東江區區牧，也是該會廣東協會東江區宗教教育幹事。萬善堂既屬於中華基督教會，李牧師須牧養萬善堂信徒。 33年春季李牧師就任堂牧，全心牧養萬善堂，他擅長全人關顧，既及靈魂，也及身體，受惠者眾，自此萬善堂日漸興旺，增長迅速。不但主日崇拜人數擠擁，而且開辦中小學及幼稚園、童光院(孤兒院)、即使在抗日年間，環境艱難，仍不斷贈醫藥、施粥飯、興學校、澤孤兒。 抗戰勝利，以至大陸政權易手，李牧師伉儷南來香港，萬善堂在廣州的聖工遂完成歷史責任，有待重現光彩。

第一城浸信會的成立是主內弟兄姊妹回應主耶穌當日的囑咐：「你們往普天下去，傳福音給萬民聽。」(馬可福音16:15)，弟兄姊妹們在聖靈的帶領和懇切的禱告下，於當時仍是新社區的第一城開始傳福音的工作。 使命宣言 我們是蒙上帝恩召的子民, 承擔主託付的使命, 傳揚福音, 建立門徒, 代代相傳, 服侍沙田社區以至普世。

Eye Fund (formerly known as Hong Kong Cataract Foundation) was registered in October 2007 as a non-profit charity (R88) approved by the Inland Revenue Department (Inland Revenue NO. 91/8616). Since establishment, Eye Fund has been upholding the mission of “Prevent, Cure and Eradicate Blindness”, conveying the right understanding of eye care and accurate eye information to the general public. Eye Fund has focused on people who care about their health, including the elderly, children and parents, to provide eye care service. Through regular collaboration with community organizations, health education and exhibitions are held to raise public awareness of eye health.
