Books and media are available for all who are interested in Germany or who want to study or teach German. Arts and Culture and Humanities極樂寺位於屯門虎地屯富路屯安里、清涼法院東南,佔地2,800平方米,創建於1955年,己有50餘年歷史,寺廟以供奉五方佛為主。 據云,開山住寺智梵老法師畢業於倓虛老和尚在荃灣設立的華南佛學院,而倓虛老和尚早年曾在哈爾濱建有極樂寺,智梵老法師為紀念其師,故在屯門建寺時,亦取名極樂寺,以報師恩。 極樂寺之前所以供奉地藏王菩薩,蓋因智梵老法師幼年多病,祖母乃向觀音菩薩許願,謂如孫兒病愈,即送入佛門。 後來果然病愈,乃送往報恩寺出家。寺中的剃度師泉通法師為愛護這個新來的小沙彌,免被寺中十殿閰王的惡相嚇著,特以布蓋之,僅露出地藏王菩薩;寺中也常做地藏法會,故後來智梵老法師為報答祖庭之厚恩,也以供奉地藏王菩薩為主。

It is our mission to be a partner of the Art Museum and the University, to help them reach their goals, to support their students, and to support art education and art awareness in the community. We achieve this by organizing a range of activities, including lectures, trips, overseas tours. We endeavour to have programmes to cater for our diverse membership: some can only attend during the day when children and family are occupied elsewhere, and some in the evenings, so please accept our apologies if not all activities suit your schedule.

The Festival comprises of “Local Competition” and “International Selection.” On the other hand, the Festival collaborates with overseas film festivals and organisations in screening outstanding short films from around the world, so as to foster exchange between local and international film cultures and broaden the vision of local film practitioners and audience. Fresh Wave also continues to explore into the areas of film criticism, outreach and cultural exchange, building a conducive environment for filmmaking and appreciation through retrospectives, school screenings and talk events.

Arts and Culture and HumanitiesFriends of Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA Friends) is a registered charity founded in 1991 to support and promote the activities of the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) and to enhance interest in the visual arts in Hong Kong. Through our membership programme, we organise private viewings of exhibitions, lectures, gallery tours and other cultural activities, as well as overseas tours led by specialists. In recent years, HKMoA Friends have travelled to numerous locations in China including Dunhuang and Yunnan; also to Mongolia, Mexico, Burma, Northern Europe, Northern India and Sri Lanka. We also sponsor a wide variety of public outreach programmes for the Museum. These include free buses for all local schools to attend major exhibitions at the Museum, a summer art camp for underprivileged students, free Sunday public concerts at the Museum, travel grants for young artists, and other meaningful programmes.
